15+ obrada za koje ste vjerojatno mislili da su originali

Ovih dana si igram “GTA: San Andreas” u kojem mi je jedan od jačih featurea slušanje radija u vozilima. Jedna od stanica, “Master Sounds 98.3″, vrti uglavnom originale pjesama čije kasnije obrade većina smatra originalima. Vrlo sam se iznenadio kada sam na toj stanici čuo “Tainted Love” za koju sam bio uvjeren da je stvar od Soft Cella. Kako si utvaram da se kao kužim u muziku ovo me natjeralo da malo pročačkam u vezi kojih sam još pjesama živio u zabludi.

Uz malo pomoći starog druga Googla, naišao sam još nekoliko zanimljivih “originala” (u zagradama je originalni izvođač i godina prvog objavljivanja):

  • Kentucky Woman - Deep Purple (Neil Diamond, 1967.)
  • Nothing Compares 2 U - Sinéad O’Connor (The Family, 1985.)
  • If You Don’t Know Me by Now - Simply Red (Harold Pelvin & the Blue Ropes, 1972.)
  • I Think We’re Alone Now - Tiffany (Tommy James & the Shondells, 1967.)
  • I Fought the Law - The Clash (Sonny Curtis and The Crickets, 1959.)
  • I Will Always Love You - Whitney Houston (Dolly Parton, 1974.)
  • I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight - UB40 w/ Robert Palmer (Bob Dylan, 1967.)
  • Rivers Of Babylon - Boney M (The Melodians, 1970.)
  • Downtown Train - Rod Stewart (Tom Waits, 1985.)

Kopajući po ovome sam naišao na još nekoliko zanimljivih informacija… Ja sam do sada mislio da je pjesmu “Nothing Compares 2 U” Prince napisao za Sinéad O’Connor, ali vraga… On je to napisao za taj bend The Family koji je okupio negdje 1984. iako sam nije bio član istog. The Family je tu stvar objavio na svom prvom i jedinom albumu, ali ju nikad nije izdao kao singl! Još sam naučio da je jedan od autora pjesme “If You Don’t Know Me by Now” Kralj popa - Michael Jackson glavom i bradom :)

Informacije sam uglavnom provjeravao na Wikipediji, pa ako lažu tamo - lažem i ja ovdje.

    @Al Chabbone: Za te koje si nabrojao se više-manje zna da su obrade. Ja sam stavljao malo manje poznate. Barem se meni tako čini… U svakom slučaju hvala na trudu.

    These open-toed booties from Nicole Miller’s Spring 2011 collection are a good example of spring’s pale palette.
    After four seasons of subdued shopping by luxury buyers, looks for spring were dominated by white, nude and other neutral colors, which gave the clothes on the runway a softer, lighter look.
    It was a real shift from recent shows, where designers had picked darker colors that seemed to reflect the gloomy mood of the economy.
    This trend even extended to the fingertips with a peachy-nude-putty-colored nail polish worn by models in the Marc Jacob show and a manicure of beige polish, with a thin coral arc applied by celebrity manicurist Jin Soon Choi at Prabal Gurung’s runway show.
    Overall, many of the looks for spring were uncomplicated and versatile, which should help these clothes make the transition from the runway to the stores as retail buyers remain selective in their purchases.

    It stands to reason. Consumers can only shop their closets for so long. Eventually, they have to start buying again, but they will look for pieces that will work with what they already own (hence the neutrals) and that will make a fresh new statement (cue the shoes.)
